Rachel Kersenbrock
Founder & Artistic Director
Some people have a corporate career. Some people have a theatre career. Rachel Kersenbrock has spent her life building both, and Lanternlight Theatre Co. is proof that the two were never meant to be separate.
Rachel brings a rare combination of business credibility and a professional theatrical background. She has managed multi-million dollar client portfolios for Fortune 500 companies and internationally recognized nonprofits, led cross-functional teams, trained and developed hundreds of team members, and reported directly to executive leadership. All while performing across professional theatres throughout the Southeast and with a national performing company, accumulating 8 years and 200+ murder mystery performances along the way. Backed by an MBA, a Bachelor's in Arts Administration, and an international certification in events management earned while living in Wales, she built Lanternlight for one reason: to create experiences worth talking about long after the night is over.
After years inside corporate America, Rachel saw firsthand what happens when teams stop connecting. When culture becomes a buzzword instead of something people actually feel. She built Lanternlight to change that, creating experiences that are equal parts entertaining and transformative, whether you're planning a private party, a fundraising gala, or a leadership development day for your entire organization.
As Founder and Artistic Director, Rachel writes every script, directs every show, designs every experience, and is in the room every time as host, performer, and the person making sure your guests leave having felt something real.

Candace Boroos
Director of interactive training
Candace Boroos has more than 30 years of theater experience and over two decades of improvisational and training experience. She enjoys creating immersive, story-driven experiences that foster communication, collaboration, and authentic engagement. As an educator and facilitator, she believes play and imagination create environments where people feel safe, creative, and fully present.
Candace holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from the University of Minnesota and has trained with Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis, The Magnet Theater in New York City, and Carolina Improv in Myrtle Beach. She has written and performed ensemble and solo productions for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Minnesota Fringe Festival, and has written, produced, and directed short films for conferences in both Europe and New York City.
In 2023, Candace founded Spartanburg Readers Theater, where she developed and workshopped her original play Blamed. She remains active with Spartanburg Little Theatre, appearing in five productions including You Can’t Take It With You opposite Rachel Kersenbrock.

Lanternlight Theatre Co. was founded by Rachel Kersenbrock, a theatre professional with 18 years of experience in acting, directing, teaching, and producing. After years of creating immersive performances and building theatre programs, she launched Lanternlight to bring clever, story driven entertainment to communities, venues, and companies across the Carolinas.
